Keep Goulet Away

Still one of the funniest commercials of last year's Super Bowl....

Year One

Hey Kids.

It's hard to believe that Babs and I have been together for a year now.

It seems like just yesterday, the Browncoats and I were just getting back from Galveston:

Little did I know that a simple night of pool would change my life forever.

And that led right into October and the Halloween Costume Extravaganza:

And that ran into the November trip to the Windy City and the Christmas of No Vacation.

Which, in turn, led to The Question on my birthday.

Then we had the Warm-Up with Zoƫ and Wash. (Sorry, couldn't find any photos of the happy day.)

Which, in the end, led to this:

So, now, a year has passed. (Since Babs and I met, that is. Not the wedding. That was just 4 months ago, sorry.)

We celebrated our anniversary by taking a mini-vacation on Saturday to Ft. Worth.

Our first stop? Yep, you guessed it...

This is me, after all.

And where I could have easily been this guy, complete with tee shirt and cheep lightsaber:

I wasn't. Instead, I was this one:

See? Much more dignified. I thought so, too.

Yeah, Babs was happy as well. -Just wait until Halloween this year. :)

The exhibit was a lot of fun, and I hope you got to go see it.

When we were finished with the exhibit, we made our way to the hotel, but we couldn't check-in yet, so we ventured to The Not Quite The Happy Store, But Close Enough Store.

Afterward, Babs and I checked into our hotel, the Ft. Worth Hilton, formerly the Texas Hotel, where President Kennedy spoke the last full day of his life.

There was even an anti-war rally going on right next-door. It caused quite a parking logistics problem, as the rally broke up right around the 4pm check-in time. And as the Hilton was valet parking only, it took a while on the one-way streets to get back in front of the hotel.

Anyway, we got a room on the 6th floor, and walked down to Sundance Square-

No, no. Sundance Square, you know, the one in Ft. Worth?

Yes, much better.

We had dinner at Razzoo's,complete with catfish, shrimp, and fried pickles. We spent the rest of the evening walking around the Square.

Sunday, we slept in, had a nice stroll along the Square to Jamba Juice to break our fast, and made our way to the Kimble Art Museum.

We made it back Sunday afternoon safe and sound to a house full of hungry cats.

All in all, it was a great vacation, and to have Monday off as well was just icing on the cake!

Hope everyone had a safe and restful holiday!
