Back! ...For Now, Anyway...
Hola, mi amegos!
Wow. So, uh, yeah. Long time, no write. Sorry about that.
My beloved G-5 Mac (on which I'm connected to the magical Internet) has had a sick hard drive for about a month now. Sick to the point that it would only stay connected to the aforementioned Internet for a hand full of moments before promptly locking up and asking to be re-started.
So, after exhausting my long checklist of trouble-shooting mad skilz, I broke down and re-installed the hard drive.
Yeah, 3 hours of backing up files and re-saving my favorite web addresses. Sigh. Should have done this a month ago.
Oh, well.
Anyway, there be news to tell of the past several weeks:
1) Kidney-Boy - Nathan's Dad was deemed unworthy by the powers that be to donate a kidney to keep his boy alive. So, your's truly is back on the list. I should get my testing packet in the mail in a couple of days to see what's next for me and my (relatively) healthy kidney. Does it WANT to go live in Nathan? Will it miss it's twin, whom it's lived next to in dark, warm comfort lo these past 30 some odd years? Will Jenny be considered an adulterer if part of me resides in her husband? The answers to these questions and more (or, maybe just more questions) to come.
2) The Job - Well, there's not much to report on this front. I'm still where you left me. Still on my feet, bobbing and weaving. Holding my head above water. For now, anyway. But, if any of you - my wonderful, adoring, beautiful groupies - have need of a smart, talented, handsome art director with over 12 years in the trade show industry, well, by all means, give him a job. But, if you have a job for me, well, I probably wouldn't say no...
3) Birthdays - The Elfin Princess celebrated her 26th year with a mission trip to England. Rumor has it that she had fun. I wouldn't know, the little minx hasn't talked to me since she got back. The Whimsy rung in her new year with the gift of a new digital camera. Congrats, Whims, now go take some cool pictures. Also, Evangelical Todd had a birthday as well. Yesterday. A small army invaded the Varnell household last night. Lord of War and myself played with fire (literally) as we cooked burgers, dogs and broutworst. Friends Scene It? and Trivial Pursuit: the 90's held our attention until the wee hours of the morning, and I'm still feeling the affects of it.
4) Hugo - Speaking of the LoW, seems that the man I call Jayne is heading back to school. For some unknown reason, Chriswell College has accepted him into their fold. They really should know better. No, really. I sent them a letter and video evidence, but I guess they didn't heed my concerns. At least Kaylee will be there to keep him out of trouble. Wait a minute...
5) Joey K - Well, Joey and Jenna made it to the Left Coast in one piece. He's still trying to find a job out there, so if you could send some good thoughts his way, I'm sure he's appreciate it. It would probably help for him to be employed before the wedding early next year.
6) And speaking of weddings - Oh, my stars and garters. My beloved Apocalypse Queen has accepted the proposal from one Mr. Darcy. It was only a matter of time before it happened, but the majority of us were expecting it to occur later in the year. Still, it couldn't have happened to a better couple. Well, there may actually be a better couple, but Zoe will pistol-whip me with her shotgun if I mention it, so yeah. Mazel Tov!
(Oh, there may be some news to report on a joint AQ-Jo'T venture in the near future. You'll know more when I do.)
Anyway, that about brings everyone up to speed in the life of Jo'T. Hope you all are doing well. Have a great weekend, and I'll see you on the flip side.
