A Truly American Experience
At lunch today, I was able to witness a family reunion. One entire side of the restaurant was filled with a wonderful mixture of Greek, Italian, Spanish, and what I think was Dutch (Roel would know for sure). I had to take a moment to think as I sat, paperback in hand, that only in America could all of those dialects fill the same air. Several kids of various ages were running back and forth all over the place, jumping from one booth to another. Women were hugging and men were laughing. Babies were being rocked by grandparents, and an overall feeling of family was everywhere. It was quite intoxicating.
I guess my one question is: of all the places they could have stopped to eat, what the heck were they doing at Arby's? :)
